To help save lives by:
- Providing education relating to organ donation and transplantation
- Promoting organ and tissue donation as an important social responsibility
- Giving support to transplant candidates, recipients, their families and donor families
- Effectively communicating to government bodies and the general public, the concerns and needs that affect the welfare of those individuals impacted by the transplant process
The Transplant Support Organization (TSO) is an all-volunteer, incorporated not-for-profit support group for candidates, recipients, donors, and care-giver families whose lives have been affected by transplantation. We host monthly educational meetings, distribute materials on donor awareness, speak to thousands of high school students yearly about organ and tissue donation, as well as many other activities.
Currently, there are over 120,000 men, women and children on the organ transplant waiting lists in the United States. Unfortunately, on average, 18 of them die each day due to the shortage of donors. You can help us in or effort to save lives by participating with us.
We encourage you to learn more about organ and tissue donation and to consider becoming a donor by enrolling in the New York State Organ and Tissue Registry and letting your family know of your decision.
On behalf of TSO and all those touched by our work, we thank you for your consideration.
